I realized that I’ve never shared any animated work on this blog, which is strange because it’s a huge a part of my life.
This is my Character Animation Demo Reel. The rigs are from Dreamworks Animation (I worked there up until about a year ago), so a few of the characters may look familiar.
I realized it’s been way too long since I’ve done an art post, and I really wanted to share this chalk mural I did with you guys . Every year at ILM they do a Chalk Mural contest for their employees. Disney was one of the catagories, and I designed one based on Tangled, one of my favorite animated films. I collect art books from animated films, and I have to say Tangled is probably my favorite one, the concept art from that film is simply stunning.
I tried to do it in a style similar to the paintings on Rapunzel’s wall; simple shapes, pastel colors. The first photo is my original design drawn on Adobe Draw, the second is the actual mural.
Anyway, The weekend went by way too fast for me, I’ve already had a cup of coffee, and am still feeling tired! hope you guys are having a wonderful Monday!
This is something I was working on during my flight to Austin. As usual it’s AdobeDraw, and it’s got way too many layers.

This is something i finished a little while ago on Adobe Draw. I came out looking a little bit like comic book art, which i actually like!
If you want to see more of my art, check out my instagram. I post new artwork there almost every day: https://instagram.com/paula.drawings/
This is something I finished last week on AdobeDraw. I’m pretty obsessed with this program right now. I never thought I’d own an ipad, until i discovered that you could draw with it haha. Anyway, there is this girl i follow on Instagram, Jessillustrator, and she posted an image similar to this one that was done in watercolor, and I thought I’d try to re-do it digitally. I’m still not great at shading with this app, but hopefully I will improve!

Here is my second art post. The pencil sketch is actually something I did a few years ago, it was part of my portfolio when I applied to the animation program at my school. I came across it about a week ago and decided to re-do it digitally. I used AdobeDraw, which is an app for your iphone or ipad, and i absolutely love it. It’s vector based, so it’s easy to zoom in and out.
I also post a ton of art on my instagram, if anyone wants to see more: https://instagram.com/paula.drawings/
So i felt like it was weird that hadn’t posted any artwork here, because honestly that’s all my Instagram even is. So here it is, my first art post. This one is a image i saw in my Monsters Vs. Aliens art book, and I decided to re-do it using my prismacolor markers. I’ve got a ridiculously large collection of art books from animated films, partially because i used to work for DreamWorks Animation, and partially because i just love them. Maybe in the future, I’ll make another section on the blog for my animated work.
Anyway, this is more of a rough draft, I’m thinking I’ll probably re-do it digitally.
