Rome Photo Diary

Our third stop on our Honeymoon: Rome.  I have dreamed of visiting Roman Ruins since I was a young history nerd.   I honestly couldn’t believe how beautiful it all was.  Being an american who’s really never traveled before now, I often forget how new U.S. history is compared to most places in the world.  It’s crazy seeing ruins over a thousand years old such as the Colosseum (70 ad!)

We spent 3 days here and managed to see the Vatican, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, and Palatine Hill.  Needless to say, I was exhausted.

Again, the outfits are pretty simple and comfortable (they have to be when you are walking all day), so hopefully you guys aren’t bored of them!

Venice Photo Diary

Our second stop on our Honeymoon was Venice, Italy.  The moment we stepped off the bus and got a look at the streets, both Kevin and I were stunned.  The entire place is so uniquely picturesque.

We spent two days here, and probably walked twelve miles a day just wandering around.  I really loved the architecture of all the churches.  San Marcos church was stunning.  The best view was from St Mark’s Campanile, which is a bell tower.  That’s where the last two photos were taken.  We also spent quite a while in the Basilica Di Santa Maria.  Honestly, you can get an audio tour and wander around for hours in there, there’s so much history.

One thing I love about Italy: the food.  It’s everywhere and it’s startlingly GOOD everywhere (especially if you love pasta, like me.)  I honestly feel like i could eat that way for the rest of my life and never get bored.

Hope you guys liked this post, let me know what you think in the comments!

Paris Photo Diary

For our Honeymoon, Kevin and I went on a 2 week trip to France and Italy.  As you can see, we took way too many photos.  Kevin is quickly improving his photography skills (seriously he’s actually very talented), so there are literally hundreds of photos that I love.  I figured I’d post a photo diary of each place we visited.

I’ve always wanted to travel to Paris.  There was so much to see, and we really only scratched the surface in those 2 days.  One of the Highlights for me was seeing the Notre Dame Cathedral.  It was absolutely stunning.  Also (not pictured) we got to take a tour of Victor Hugo’s house.  He’s been my favorite writer since I read Les Miserables in High School, so you can imagine how stoked I was about seeing where he lived!

The outfits are pretty relaxed for Paris, in fact a few pieces were stolen from Kevin.  So these photos will be a little less outfit-centered.  Let me know how you guys like this post!

Bralette: here

As you may have guessed from the background, these photos were not taken in San Francisco.  We snapped these while in Hawaii, exploring Waikiki.  While there, I found that I pretty much live in croptops and maxi skirts when given the chance.  I honestly never thought I’d be comfortable enough to wear a bralette as a top, but I absolutely adore the way this one looks (plus it is ridiculously comfortable.)  The skirt is from Revolve, which is my recent obsession.  Their clothing can get abbot pricey, but it is honestly such high quality and so flattering that I’m okay with it for certain pieces.

Anyway, it’s been a minute since I posted.  Between Hawaii, work and wedding planning, I’ve hardly had a moment to breath.  We are officially 10 days from the wedding now, and I’m kind of shocked it’s finally here.  I’ve been talking about it for a good year after all.

We’ll be traveling all over Italy for the honeymoon, so I’m thinking of doing a travel diary for it!  Anyone have any good recommendations for a vegetarian in Italy?

This is one of those super random outfits that I threw together and ended up loving.  I found the skirt on clearance at Nordstroms a few months ago, and completely forgot about it until yesterday.  Looks like it’s gone from their website but I linked a few similar ones above.  The top is a super old tank top that I cropped myself directly before putting on.  I swear I end up cropping about 50% of the shirts I buy.  I guess I figure I’d rather alter items to fit my current style than leave them hanging in my closet forever.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend.  You may have noticed, my hair is a little blonder in these photos.  I think I’ve finally reached the strawberry blonde shade I visioned for the wedding.  What do you think?

Sometimes you find the best pieces on the most unexpected places.  In this particular case, I found this skirt at a garage sale that a girl was having on the street in the Mission District for $10 (you have to love San Francisco.)  It’s one of those basic pieces that just ends up fitting you and your wardrobe perfectly.  As I’ve said before on this blog, I feel like every article of clothing in my wardrobe is something I either spent too much money on, or spent next to nothing.  Usually they are either used clothing for extremely cheap, or it’s more of an essential statement piece that I’ve deemed worth spending money on.  There’s really no in between for me.  Is anyone else like that or am I just weird?

Anyway, hope you guys are having a wonderful Monday.  I was excited for the eclipse all weekend, but it looks like it will be far too cloudy to see anything in San Francisco.  Did any of you guys get a good view?

Dress: here

I snapped these before going to my Bridal Shower this past weekend.  I found this dress at Anthropologie and completely fell in love with it, especially the way it flows as I walk.  It’s definitely not the usual outfit I post on this blog.  That’s the thing about personal style though, it’s constantly evolving.

I’m home sick at the moment, napping and binge watching Game of Thrones (literally the only good thing about being sick.)

We’ve got a month and a half until the wedding, and it’s been quite busy.  I never thought about how many things there are to prepare for BEFORE the wedding (bridal showers, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner).  It’s crazy to think about how much preparation goes into a single day.  But the stress is finally fading away, I’m starting to get excited for all the events coming up!

Let me know what you guys think of the look!

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted.  I’m afraid work and wedding planning has been getting in the way of writing on this blog.  Hopefully you guys haven’t lost interest!

For this post I’ve partnered with Lilysilk, a silk brand which I’ve become quite impressed with.  This silk camisole is my new favorite basic piece; it goes with just about anything.  I’m obsessed with this pale pink color as of late, especially when pairing it with all black.  It’s somehow girly and classic all at once.  For 16% off of any Lilysilk product, you can use the coupon code: paulagallagherblog

Please let me know if there’s anything aside from fashion posts you guys would like to see on this blog.  Thinking about doing something health related?

My first hallway photos using my new camera.  I’m honestly stunned at the improvement in quality, it’s amazing how much better it looks.  I’ve been meaning to do a look with these boots for a while.  My fiance got them for me for valentines day (obviously he knows me well).  Being that they have a bit more going on than my usual shoes, I decided to pair them with an all black outfit-you really can’t go wrong that way.

Again, sorry about the infrequent posts.  I’ve been neglecting blogging for writing and animating lately, but I’m hoping to get back to a more regular schedule.  Let me know what you think in the comments!

4 Outfits With PeterGrimm Hats

In case you guys weren’t aware by the title of this blog, I’m obsessed wit hats.  They are probably my favorite accessory.  For this post, I’ve partnered with Peter Grimm, to show how I’m pairing a few hats from his collection.

So this one is my favorite.  If you follow me on instagram, you know I wear it constantly.  It’s black and goes with absolutely everything.  It’s also extremely structured and durable.  Not kidding, it once flew into the street, got run over by a bus, and then popper right back into place.  I still wear it.

Hat: here

Honestly, I never thought I’d be into burgundy hat, but this one is so adorable.  I wore it with a simple floral dress for a very girly but put together look.

Hat: here (different color)

Another one that I’m currently wearing everywhere.  Seeing as grey is also a neutral, it goes with pretty much anything.  Here I’ve paired it with one of my go-to outfits: black jeans, denim jacket and creepers

Olive green is currently my favorite color.  Not too girly, but still very in style.  Here I’ve paired this one with black jeans, platforms and a vintage flannel shirt.  it also looks bad ass with an all black outfit.

Hope you guys like this post.  I apologize about how long it’s been since I’ve posted.  The truth is, I’ve been so busy recently that I’ve barely had time to shoot proper Outfit Of The Day looks.  The good news is, Kevin and I invested in a much better camera, so the quality of my photos will go up!  I’m hoping to focus more on quality rather than quantity.  There was a time in which I was posting every day, and I’m realizing that’s just not possible for me right now.  I am going to try to post on this blog once a week.  I will, however, be updating my Instagram every day as usual, so you can always find my on there 🙂
